This is an 8-channel opto-isolator board designed for input expansion over the I2C bus. Each input accepts 15-30VDC, making it suitable for mechanical contact switching devices such as relay switches, push-buttons, and switches.

The board uses a PCF8574 I2C chip, supports a 100kHz bus speed, and operates with a bus voltage of 3.3-5.5VDC. It features three jumpers for setting its address, allowing up to 16 boards to be connected on a single bus. Additionally, the board includes on-board I2C bus pull-up resistors and an interrupt pull-up resistor, both of which can be enabled via jumpers.

The board can be mounted on a DIN-rail PCB holder, which can be securely attached to a tray.

The difference between the I2C-IN830M and I2C-IN830MA lies in the I2C chip used. The I2C-IN830M features the PCF8574, while the I2C-IN830MA uses the PCF8574A. The key distinction between the PCF8574 and PCF8574A is their I2C bus address.

To prevent damage to the board, do not plug or unplug I2C cables while the power supply is on. Always turn off the power supply before plugging or unplugging I2C cables on the board.
